Summary

What If Your Biggest Setback Is Your Greatest Competitive Advantage?

What if the experience that knocks you down ultimately becomes the reason you succeed?

For Bryce Henson, CEO of Fit Body Boot Camp and co-founder of Fit Body Forever, that is a very personal question.

At 22, Bryce was living on fast food and avoiding exercise. An embarrassing comment about his physical appearance prompted him to ask a friend for help. Twelve weeks later, he had lost 20 pounds of fat, gained 20 pounds of muscle and discovered a passion that would forever change his career and life.

Bryce opened his first Fit Body Boot Camp location in 2012. Fifteen months later, he expanded too quickly, discovering that operating one successful business and leading multiple locations required very different skills.

By 2018, he'd joined the brand's corporate leadership. Then came COVID, when the organization developed a virtual training response in just 48 hours.

This week on Franchise Today, Bryce returns to discuss those experiences and the philosophy behind his just released book, "Turn Adversity to Advantage."

He shares why process matters more than obsessing over outcomes, how high-touch coaching and genuine customer relationships distinguish the Fit Body model, and why leadership development is essential to successful franchise ownership.

The conversation also explores his newest venture, Fit Body Forever, which focuses on strength training for adults over 60, and his concerns about age-related muscle loss.

From personal transformation to franchise leadership, Bryce makes a compelling case that adversity doesn't have to define our limitations. It can actually help reveal our true potential.
